Assistant Consultant (1997-1998)

PricewaterhouseCoopers (Coopers and Lybrand), Cape Town South Africa

Provide professional business advisory services to clients of PwC

Involved in the New Product Development division of Vodacom in Sandton and assist the company in taking an idea and delivering it as a product/service using a process we designed for them. (2 Months)

Researched and initiated Internet Commerce test implementation at Distillers Corporation (Stellenbosch) using ITS on SAP R/3. This involved researching options that would best suit our clients in terms of offering remote customer service and access to the SAP R/3 system through Sales Order, Catalogs and Accounts Queries (2 months).

Presently involved in a Y2K project at Portnet (division of Transnet). This involves identifying systems and components that are vulnerable to the millenium problem. I work with a particular port/s and its representatives (representing the Port Manager) to devise the best solutions for a port. My role is that of a Quality Assurance Analyst ensuring that identification and tests are done according to the methodology and coordinate activities of the project teams, and also that of a coordinator. This involves travelling to the Port of Port Elizabeth on a bi-weekly basis to meet with the Representatives and the Port Manager and help with the guidelines for the next milestone (Project management)

Graduate Assistant (Fall 1997)

Conducted research on Quality Management, Internet Marketing as well as Consumer Behavior for two professors. Responsible for doing some administrative work for the two professors.

Responsible for doing research for the Masters of Quality Management program (to determine best scores to use for admission-correlation)

Intern (summer 1994)

Responsible for bookkeeping work as well as preparations for tax filings for Mr. Mitchell's Houston based clients (Small businesses). Also responsible for preparing payrolls (from timesheets) and other related activities. This program was made possible by Africare, based on Washington, DC.

Conducted audits as an assistant to Auditors, on major companies in South Africa (incl. I&J divisions, British Petroleum, Pinelands Service Station, as well as stock counts at a meat processing factory and a pharmaceutical company

Student Assistant (Fall 1992)

Compiled a newsletter for Foreign Student on the Loyola Intensive English Program. Was responsible for some administrative work related to International students (visa and admission requirements)

Bank Clerk (1989-1991)

Teller: Responsible for handling deposits from large firms based in Epping, Cape Town, translation and was responsible for counting thousands of rands in takings for 6 major cooperatives operating in the Epping Market in Cape Town.

Ledger: Was responsible for time preparation of customer request and checking the Exception Report for due (automatically filed) requests. Also handled phone and postal request from bank customers related to their accounts

Communications Officer: Same responsibilities as above with more emphasis on customer contacts than paperwork. Handled customer queries and complaints.
